Cardinia Shire Mayor, Cr Brett Owen has commended the efforts of residents on the back of encouraging vaccination data for Cardinia Shire. 

Cardinia Shire Mayor, Cr Brett Owen has commended the efforts of residents on the back of encouraging vaccination data for Cardinia Shire. 

Latest Australian Government data shows that 93.7% of residents have received with a first dose and 66.2% double dosed. 

“A heartfelt ‘thank you’ to the people of Cardinia Shire who have received their vaccinations. We know this time hasn’t been easy with restrictions, home schooling, working from home and the impacts to business, community groups and sport,” said the Mayor. 

“Thanks to the efforts of EACH Health Service and Monash Health, there have been a number of pop up vaccination clinics held across the shire including some great partnerships with community including Living and Learning in Pakenham, Minaret College Officer and the Gurudwara Siri Guru Nanak Darbar Sikh Temple,” explained the Mayor. 

Residents are urged to follow through and get their second dose when they are able.

At last night’s meeting, Council resolved to: 

Approve relief programs to support the Cardinia Shire business, community and sporting clubs including: 

Credit for winter sport fees 2022 to those who have paid and a waiver for those who have not paid for all Council owned and managed sporting facilities.   Align Council’s rent relief to the Victorian Government Commercial Tenancy Relief Scheme  Actively promote vaccination throughout our municipality to increase vaccination rates in the community.
