On Sunday the 11th of April Corey from Coolgardie Gold Safaris in conjunction with the Coolgardie Community Resource Centre took a group on a Gold prospecting excursion at one of his lease blocks.

It was perfect weather conditions for an enjoyable and educational day out in the Goldfields bush.

It was a first time gold prospecting experience for the majority of the group  and Corey was a patient teacher who is very passionate about teaching the basic steps, skills and tips involved with prospecting including safety in the bush with the appropriate GPS equipment.  (Those attendees that had done prospecting previously said that they had also learnt  something new that day).

The group all had a go at the detecting and were successful in finding Gold.  The group then left the bush and went back to “A Place to Stay” in Coolgardie where they also experienced gold panning and the smashing of rocks that had gold in them.

The evening was completed with a BBQ dinner and refreshments while sharing stories around the fire pit.

Thank you Corey for this amazing experience.
