Council encourages property owners to go paperless 4 June 2021

Bega Valley Shire Council is encouraging property owners to sign up to receive their rates, water and instalment notices by email, to help reduce our environmental impact and save on printing and postage costs.

“Council remains committed to continuous improvement in the provision of all our services, with efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability key focus areas,” Director of Business and Governance, Iliada Bolton said.

“The collection of rates is an essential function of Council, however with approximately 82,000 water and rates notices still being distributed by hardcopy mail each year we are very keen to reduce that number substantially.

“To help encourage residents to make the switch, everyone who is signed up to eNotices before 30 September will go in the draw to win $1000 off their 2021-2022 rates.”

The competition is being run in conjunction with a public education campaign to encourage the community to make the switch.
