Sample Baw Baw’s many dining delights with Baw Baw Eat and Explore, a new website that connects diners with local eateries and hidden gems.

If you are heading out for a meal and can't get a seat, get your food to go and let Baw Baw Eat and Explore guide you to a local picnic spot where you can enjoy your meal – or head back to the comfort of your own home.

Restaurants and cafes are equipped with cardboard picnic boxes and posters with QR codes to help diners discover a selection of local scenic spots.

Baw Baw Eat and Explore is open to all registered food businesses in Baw Baw Shire, regardless of their size or location. Any businesses who need support and guidance to provide takeaway or enhance their outdoor dining spaces are encouraged to contact Council.

It is the latest in a range of support Baw Baw Shire Council has provided local businesses, with more activities planned in the coming months. Recent support has included:

A streamlined process for the approval of outdoor dining, with all permits received to date processed and approved within an average of three days. All fees relating to outdoor dining and activation have been waived until 30 June 2021. A Buy/Local Eat local campaign public campaign including street flags, radio and print advertising. Outdoor activations such as live music and other initiatives are being worked through in consultation with local businesses and business groups

Baw Baw Eat and Explore is supported by the Victorian Government and Baw Baw Shire Council.
