Attention all young people in the Byron Shire – National Youth Week starts today and Byron Shire Council is supporting activities organised by the Byron Youth Service (BYS).

This evening (Friday 16 April 2021) the BYS will host an outdoor movie night focusing on supporting LGBTQIA+ youth.

Starting at 5:30pm at the Byron Youth Service in Byron Bay, there will be a BBQ, short films and a Q and A panel discussion.

And on the 24 April the final day of Youth Week, the BYS will relaunch its flea market which focuses on promoting young entrepreneurs by providing a place where they can showcase and sell their creations to the community.

Byron Shire Mayor, Simon Richardson, said the youth of the Shire were incredibly articulate, artistic and creative.

“Our young people are inspirational and Youth Week is a time to pause and reflect on the contribution they make to our community,” Mayor Richardson said.

The theme for National Youth Week 2021 is Together More Than Ever.
