Did you attend a Yorke on a Fork Food and Wellness Fair?

The Yorke Peninsula Council, in partnership with the Flinders University, are thrilled to have successfully delivered a series of six Yorke on a Fork Food and Wellness Fairs across the Council area during February/March 2021. The expansion from one to six fairs was made possible thanks to funding from the Australian Government’s Drought Communities Program.

The fairs built upon the very popular inaugural event that was held in March 2019 at the Minlaton Town Hall, following community feedback that a food and wellness fair was a top priority for improving health and wellbeing in the region.

These events aimed to promote local food and wellness providers and improve community physical, mental and social wellness while also supporting economic recovery.

Close to two thousand people were treated to free tastings, demonstrations, active lifestyle information, activities and free health advice. This was all in addition to special guests who included Callum Hann and Themis Chryssidis from Sprout, renowned Chef and Author Simon Bryant and the Amazing drumming monkeys

So, the Yorke Peninsula Council now wants to know:

Would you like to see these event(s) happen again? Do you have any suggestions for improvement?

All feedback from the community and stallholders who attended the events, will assist Council to assess the effectiveness of the fairs and identify areas for improvement. By completing a simple survey (available online and at all Council offices), you will go into the draw to win one of ten Maggie Beer cook books (Maggie’s Recipe for Life) or one of six Woodville West Torrens Football Club goodie packs. Your choice!

Stallholder Survey

Both surveys are open until Wednesday 28 April 2021.

Competition winners will be select via random selection and the competition winners will be contacted via the email they place on the survey form – if there is no email or other form of contact provided on the survey completed, then that survey will become ineligible for a prize and another survey will be randomly selected.

The competition will be drawn at 4pm on Tuesday, April 4th 2021 by Council personnel. The winner will be able to collect their prize from any Council Office. If the winner is unable to collect their prize, other arrangements will be made to get it to them.
