A 400-metre shared path through Wingara Reserve at Belrose connecting local streets with Glenrose Shopping Centre, Lionel Watts Reserve transport, and schools will be underway next week and ready for the community to enjoy in April.

The new path will provide our community with a safer walking and cycling route and greater accessibility for prams, wheelchairs and mobility scooters. It will be constructed of a sustainable eco-concrete material approximately 400 metres in length and three metres in width.

Over 580 people provided feedback on this project showing the community’s interest in expanding the cycling network and participating in active transport for local trips.

This project is being delivered as part of the Northern Beaches Bike Plan and broader transport strategy, MOVE Northern Beaches which prioritises the delivery of a path network that connects the community, minimises our dependence on cars, and reduces carbon emissions.

This Wingara Reserve project is made possible due to 50% funding from Transport for NSW’s Active Transport Program Grants.

This path is in addition to several other paths that are expected to be completed next week including:

A 400-metre shared path at the top of Rodborough and Allambie Roads which connects to Allambie Shops through to Warringah RoadA 140-metre path through Catalpa Reserve, Avalon Beach between Central Road and the Appian Way

While a 540-metre footpath on Ocean Road, Palm Beach linking the Palm Beach Pavilion to the golf course has recently been completed.
