February 2021 Council meeting briefs Development Applications Conditional approval subject to concurrence from the NSW Department of Planning, Industry & Environment was granted for a Development Application for a dwelling house and workshop on Wargeila Road, Bango. Council considered that the DA was consistent with surrounding lot sizes and dwellings and supportive of the environmental management of the land. A Development Application for a revised shed in Gundaroo has been approved, subject to a reduction in wall plate and pitch height. A condition has been included that strictly prohibits the shed for business and industrial purposes. Conditional Development Consent has been issued for a two lot subdivision in Gundaroo. As part of this, it was also resolved that the opening of David Street be considered as part of the 2021/22 budget process. Fixing Country Bridges Program Grant

Council accepted a grant offer of $288,000 under the NSW Fixing Country Bridges Grant Program for the replacement of the Bango Lane timber road bridge. Council will contribute $50,000 from the State Roads Reserve and the project will be included in the 2020/21 Operational Plan.

Annual financial statements 2019/20

Council received the auditor’s reports on the Annual Financial Statements for the year ended 30 June 2020. Council adopted the financial statements and authorised the presentation of the audited statements to the public.

Six monthly Progress Report

The six monthly Progress Report for the 2017/18 – 2020/21 Delivery Program was also noted. In line with the Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework, Council is required to prepare every six months, a report on progress against the actions and activities identified in its Delivery Program. This report contains the status of actions and activities undertaken for the period 1 January 2020 to 30 June 2020. 

Local Traffic Committee

Councillors received a report on the option of establishing a shared Local Traffic Committee with Goulburn Mulwaree and Upper Lachlan Shire Council. These councils have voted against the option, therefore the report was noted and no further action will be taken.

Civic Precinct Project

Council has officially endorsed 209 Comur Street as the preferred location for the redevelopment of a new Civic Precinct. Councillors also determined to make the funds available for the preparation of the documents required for the project to proceed to the stage where it will be deemed ‘shovel ready.’ As a result, $672,000 will be allocated from the 2020/21 budget for the completion of a master plan, schematic design and all necessary development approval documentation.
