Eurobodalla Council is continuing to work with NSW Health on COVID-19 safety and compliance throughout the shire.

Southern NSW Health Environmental Health and Tobacco Compliance Officers, along with authorised officers from other government agencies, have been visiting a range of local businesses across Eurobodalla to ensure they have appropriate COVID safety measures in place.

These have included food premises, beauty salons, gyms, hotels, caravan parks and camping grounds, and large events.

Council’s environmental services manager Deb Lenson said the focus of the inspections had been on providing advice and guidance.

“Overall the feedback from NSW Health has been positive, with businesses and organisations understanding the need to play their part in keeping the community safe and comply with the current Public Health Orders,” she said.

“Where a premises requires improvement, follow up inspections are being conducted.”

Ms Lenson reminded community members that everybody had a part to play in being COVID safe.

“Our community can support our local businesses by ensuring they use the QR codes provided to sign-in and adhere to hygiene and spacing requirements,” she said.

“Not following the correct procedures can potentially put our community at risk.”
