Masks on public transport 12 Jan 2021 12:19 PM -

Lachlan Shire Council advises that it is now mandatory for people in Greater Sydney, Central Coast, Blue Mountains and Wollongong to wear fitted face coverings on public transport.

This is in line with the NSW Government’s updated Public Health (COVID-19 Mandatory Face Coverings) Order 2021. Fines will apply if travellers don’t comply with the Public Health Order, which applies to all public transport including community transport and ride share services.

The Order also applies to public transport waiting areas, including train/ light rail stations and platforms, ferry wharves, bus stops and taxi areas.

While Lachlan Shire is not included in the mandatory ruling, the Government is encouraging everyone across the state to wear a mask on public transport.
