Environmental Health Australia Early Career recognition for Maddison Said

Liverpool City Council Environmental Health Officer Maddison Said has been awarded the EHA NSW Environmental Health Early Career Professional of the Year for 2020.
The award recognises early career excellence, professionalism and great potential in the environmental health profession for qualified environmental health practitioners in the first five years of their career.
Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said Council was proud of Maddison’s achievements.
“Maddison has exemplified dedication and excellence in her field so early on in her career and we can’t wait to watch her go from strength to strength. This is only the beginning for her,” Mayor Waller said.
Maddison demonstrated excellence in dealing with complaints, pollution control, food inspections, onsite sewage management, acoustics and development applications, all within five years of graduating from university.
She has international experience in her field through the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade’s New Columbo Project where she was part of a group investigating wastewater treatment and disposal from hotels on a tourist island in the Philippines.
When Maddison returned to Australia, she briefed her colleagues on her experience at the EHA (NSW) INC Annual State Conference in Manly in August 2019. Maddison joined Council in October 2020.
This is a great achievement for Maddison who completed her undergraduate studies in 2019 and is currently enrolled in further studies at Flinders University.
