Lithgow City Council commissions local artist to design Christmas banners for Main Street

22 December, 2020

As one of the cultural activation outcomes from the NSW Government’s Streets as Shared Spaces program, the Christmas banners were designed by local artist Le Grizz to bring vibrancy to Main Street throughout December.

Le Grizz is a Lithgow based artist specialising in quirky, acid pop artworks, murals and designs. He has collaborated with brands including Fireball Whisky, Bacardi-Martini, Young Henrys, Kyneee Snowboards, Mambo, Disney and Valentine Wines. His public artworks can be found across Australia including the now iconic mural Lithgow Flash which captures the spirit of local Olympic hero Marjorie Jackson. Le Grizz’s work was recently exhibited at Gang Gang Gallery.

“We are grateful to Le Grizz for bringing his characteristic style of humour and vibrant colour to the banners, creating a joyful celebration the length of Main Street for the Christmas period,” Mayor Ray Thompson said.  “The Christmas banners are an exciting indication of the vibrancy of the banner program to come, encouraging increased economic activity in our retail precinct.”
