Change of services, Dysart and Glenden recreation services

Isaac Regional Council has recently carried out a review of the unaccompanied children’s programs held at the Dysart and Glenden Recreation Centres and made the difficult decision to cease these programs in line with current regulatory requirements.

The unaccompanied children’s programs regrettably discontinuing are:

Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Occasional Care After School Sports Program

The extensive review was undertaken in consultation with the Queensland Department of Education and included comprehensive research, a risk assessment and legislative compliance evaluation.

Council understands the inconvenience this will cause caregivers and remains committed to ensuring Isaac communities have ongoing access to high quality, accredited and compliant childcare services throughout the region.

To this end, Council is taking all reasonable steps to identify and implement alternative support for parents, caregivers and guardians in the Dysart and Glenden communities.

Council is inviting all stakeholders to the following meetings to provide a rationale of the suspension, hear the community concerns and to provide an overview of the proposed path forward.
