Planned hazard reduction burn: Emerald Airport 17 October

Posted on October 16, 2020

Central Highlands Regional Council is advising Emerald residents that a hazard reduction burn is set to take place on land south of the airport from 10.00 am on Saturday 17 October 2020.

The burn will be supported by the local urban and rural fire units, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services staff, SES volunteers and council.

It is dependent on weather conditions on the day, which may lead to a postponement if not suitable.

Residents may see smoke and ash in the area, although every attempt will be made to keep this to a minimum.
