Early Childhood Educator

The Northern Midlands Council is seeking to recruit a Diploma qualified and experienced Early Childhood Educator to work at the Midlands Rural and Remote Childcare Service located at Cressy.

The successful applicant will provide care and support for children in accordance with individual children’s development plans, centre policy, and relevant legislation. This position will also provide educational leadership to Educators with lesser qualifications and experience in relation to planning for individuals and groups, challenging behaviours, and disabilities.

This position will commence as full-time employment for a period of four months, then reduce to a part time engagement, with up to thirty hours per week from February 2021.

For your application to be considered, you must have completed a Diploma in Children’s Services or similar, in addition to having proven experience in a childcare setting. You must also have a current Working with Vulnerable People Registration and up to date First Aid certification.

You will also have excellent communication skills, including active listening skills; a sound understanding of the health and safety risks involved with working with children and be able to demonstrate sensitivity, patience, and kindness.
