Work has been completed on the Gum Bend Lake exercise equipment installation, which was funded by Council’s successful application for a $50,000 Stronger Country Communities Round 3 grant.
The works are part of the ongoing Gum Bend Lake Walkway project which includes construction of a concrete walkway around the lake that will commence later in the year.
The exercise equipment, which will be open for public use from today, will provide a workout area for tourists and locals to enjoy as they walk around the lake.
Meanwhile, Council is exploring several options to fill the lake and keep it full during summer, with a discussion to be held at this week’s Council meeting.
Once the Council has considered the issue, a decision on the best option to fill and maintain the lake will be made.
