The City of Canterbury Bankstown has extended its inaugural Mayoral Scholarship Program for residents, with a total of $10,000 up for grabs until mid-September.

Mayor Khal Asfour encouraged people who are eligible to apply for the scholarship program, which Council introduced this year.

“In applying for a Mayoral Scholarship you’ve got nothing to lose but everything to gain,” Mayor Asfour said. The program ensures Council can support residents who face financial challenges to pursue their dreams – whether it be through developing knowledge, skills, talents or business ideas.

“Scholarships provide access and equal opportunity to everyone so it’s inspiring to see Council has put an extension on these scholarships until Friday 18 September, especially during such uncertain times in our world’s history,” he said.

The program will provide pathways for people to a range of academic, sporting, cultural, environmental, Smart Vocational Education and Training, and Smart City scholarships.
