Budget Adopted 2020-2021
Shire of Harvey 29 Jul 2020

Shire of Harvey Council adopted the 2020-2021 Budget at its July Ordinary Council meeting.

Shire President Paul Gillett said given the unprecedented circumstances the Shire was faced with during the COVID-19 pandemic it was a good outcome that there were no increases to the rate in the dollar and no increases to fees and charges.

Cr Gillett said the 2020-2021 budget highlights important projects and will continue moving the Shire forward in a positive way while providing essential services to the community.

Major features of the 2020-2021 Budget include:

A significant investment in road, drainage and footpath construction projects. Construction of the Yarloop Workshops. Harvey Senior Citizens Centre renovations (subject to external funding). Harvey Nature Playground. Extension to the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre gymnasium. Planning for the Ridley Foreshore Café development. Further development of the Urban Forest facilities. Significant investment in road construction.

“We look forward to the new projects coming on board to boost local employment and improve the liveability within our great region,” Cr Gillett said.

Minimum rates have remained the same as the previous financial year – $1,080 per property.
