New Recreational Websites Ready to Launch

Published on 21 July 2020

The City of Busselton is excited to announce that new websites for the Geographe Leisure Centre (GLC) and Naturaliste Community Centre (NCC) will be launched on Monday 27 July 2020.

The new tailor-made site will provide community members with all the information they need in an easy to use format accessible via both phone and tablet.

This includes easy access to group fitness timetables including cycle and aquatic fitness sessions. Customers will also be able to view pool lane availability and sports fixtures. Other special features include quick links to news items, activities and events.

The new sites offer up-to-date information on operating hours, memberships and casual entry fees. Customers will be able to register online for Learn to Swim, vacation care, hire facilities and purchase a membership.

City of Busselton Mayor Grant Henley said the launch of the new website is perfectly timed to celebrate the re-opening of both centres post Covid-19.

“There’s an exciting vibe at our leisure centres.  A lot of work has been done over recent months including new change room facilities and improved signage at the GLC.  It’s wonderful to see people returning to their fitness regimes or embarking upon new regimes.  The new website reflects this fresh energy – it’s modern and will significantly enhance communication.”

The launching of this new website is part of a broader website upgrade project encompassing all of the City of Busselton websites. Over the next 2 years the main corporate site, Library sites, the Busselton Margaret River Airport site and the Busselton Jetty Tourist Park will be reviewed and upgraded.

“The impetus for reviewing and upgrading our websites has been driven by Council’s desire to improve communication with stakeholders – most essentially with our residents”, Mayor Henley said. “Online information is a key component of modern communication and we are committed to making our sites look better and work better.”

The Objectives out lined in this media release are aligned to Key Goal Area 6 in the City of Busselton’s Strategic Community Plan (Review 2019): Leadership that is visionary, collaborative and accountable.
