Croquet club celebrates its history
City of Wodonga 1 Jul 2020

Wodonga Croquet Club has released a booklet to celebrate its history as part of the 20-year Reunion Celebration.

The booklet – Wodonga Croquet Club a brief history – captures a history of many of the social and cultural changes in the city.

President Ros Henderson said prior to this there was no records of the club.

“The history dates back to 1924,” she said.

“There’s lots of local names you may recognise and really tells the social history of the city. It will be a valuable addition to the city’s archives.

“John McQuilton, our secretary, researched and wrote the book.”

The club, which now has 41 members, will be having a 20-year reunion in November.

There will be croquet play, a special luncheon, presentations and displays of memorabilia.
