Gannawarra Shire residents are encouraged to take part in Australian Red Cross’s five-part webinar series that explores themes relating to drought and wellbeing.

The Drought and Wellbeing Webinars program explores how to maintain community wellbeing through drought.

“During times of distress, such as drought, it can be difficult to manage, both individually and as a community,” Mayor Lorraine Learmonth said.

“Australian Red Cross’s Drought and Wellbeing Webinars feature expert speakers sharing their insights so we can better support our own communities, ourselves and our loved ones in these tough times.”

The first session to feature in the five-part program – Maintaining wellbeing through drought & prolonged stress – is available to view online, with the following events scheduled:

The drought cycle; adaptation and strengthening resilience – Wednesday, 1 July (10am-11am)

Wellbeing after the rains – Wednesday, 15 July (10am-11am)

Family wellbeing in the face of ongoing stress – Wednesday, 29 July (10am-11.15am)

Preparing for tough times – Wednesday, 12 August (10am-11.15am)

“Online attendance at the four remaining sessions are limited to 500 people, however the webinars can be viewed at any time following the broadcast,” Mayor Learmonth said.
