In line with Phase 3 of the State Government’s COVID-19 Roadmap to Recovery, members of the public will once again be able to attend City of Wanneroo Council meetings from Tuesday 23 June 2020.

Since March, the City has been holding all council meetings through web conferencing with audio recordings of meetings made available on the City’s website.

“I am very pleased that we will resume face-to-face contact with residents, ratepayers, local business owners and other key stakeholders at our meetings while adhering to social distancing advice from the State Government,” Mayor Tracey Roberts said.

“While the democratic process did continue through electronic meetings, nothing can replace the atmosphere of in-person meetings where opinions and ideas can be shared in a group setting without the barriers of distance.

“I want to thank everyone for continuing to adhere to the State Government’s guidelines which has helped us to successfully progress through the Roadmap.”

“We are all in this together and it is important that we all continue to follow physical distancing guidelines and practise good hygiene,” said Mayor Roberts.

The next Council Briefing Session is scheduled for Tuesday 23 June at 6pm.

A Special Council Meeting is scheduled for Monday 29 June at 6pm to consider the City’s 2020/21 Budget.

This is in addition to the Ordinary Council Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, 30 June at 7pm.

Meetings are being held over two evenings due to the large number of agenda items and to ensure interested parties can attend and be part of the conversation.
