To keep our community up to date with key Council decisions, outcomes and plans; here is a snapshot summary from Council’s Wednesday 13 May 2020 ordinary meeting.

Vibrant communities Thriving economy Safe and sustainable environments Council agreed to a further report be brought to Council following the tender evaluation process of the Gippswide Kerbside Collaborative Green Waste Processing initiative. Council adopted the revised Public Road Register and noted the associated cost implications of the review and the annual contract sum increase for CON2019060 Routine Road Maintenance effective from July 1 2020, subject to negotiation. Organisational excellence Council noted the information outlined in the Quarterly performance Report for Quarter 3 2019/2020 including actions contained in the Council Plan 2019/20, Key Performance Indicators, Capital Works program progress update and financial statements for Q3. Council accepted the Variation Letter Schedule from the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, extending the term of the interim loan facility of $4 million for a period of 12 months from 19 June 2020 to 19 June 2021. Committee and delegates reports Cr Cook provided an update on West Gippsland Regional Libraries (WGRL) having adopted its Quarter 3 Financial and Performance Report. They are currently reviewing their Local Law and will accept Submissions to WGRL until 12 June 2020. WGRL are also seeking to adopt their Budget on 28 August 2020. Cr Cook advised that the Mobile Library is not in operation due to COVID-19 but is currently receiving some updates for when it is back in operation. Cr Cook also attended a remote meeting for South East Australian Transport Strategy (SEATS) on 7 May where they adopted the 2020 SEATS Strategic Transport Plan. What's next?

The next Council meeting will be from 5.30pm on Wednesday 27 May 2020 at the West Gippsland Arts Centre. Due to government restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), community members are not permitted to attend, however everyone is welcome tune into the live stream from home.
