Green Waste resuming Tuesday 12 May

Published on 11 May 2020

In April, Council suspended its Green Waste service as part of its efforts to support the Premier’s intensive measures to restrain the circulation of people in the north-west community in managing the outbreak of COVID-19.

The Premier has now outlined the Roadmap to Recovery which has allowed Council to resume its normal green waste processes from this Tuesday the 12th May 2020.

It is important to note that the Stay at Home directive remains in place and we therefore encourage only urgent / necessary disposal of green waste until the Premier lifts these restrictions.

Residents may pay fees or use green waste vouchers at this time.

If visiting the site please note the following;

Access to the green waste areas will be limited to 4 vehicles at one time Only 2 people are to leave the vehicle at a time Visitors must comply with physical distancing regulations

Please note there may be some delays in accessing the green waste area associated with the controls put in place

At Council's April meeting, it was determined that Council will provide FREE access to the green waste disposal site when the current restriction have eased further.

The FREE green waste period is planned to commence with the easing of COVID-19 restrictions at stage 2. At present this will be 15 June 2020, however this is subject to review by the State Government.

Please keep an eye on our website and social media pages - we will advise as soon as the FREE green waste period begins.

Council would like to thank everyone for their patience during the closure of the green waste facility. Our community is to be congratulated on the effort and sacrifices we have all made in containing the spread of COVID-19.
