Water Restrictions Hours Amended - Odds & Evens System - 1 May 2020
Cobar Shire Council 30 Apr 2020

Our water supply is currently facing a number of issues, so Council has no choice but to ask our residents and the community to save as much water as possible.

From 1 MAY 2020  the 'odds and evens' system will continue. However, with an amended time span. If your house number is an even number, you can water on even dates, ie 2nd, 4th, 6th of the month. If your house number is odd, you can water on the odd dates, ie 1st, 3rd, 5th of the month with reduced time spans.

Irrigation watering systems and sprinklers permitted for 15 minutes every second day based on the 'odds and evens' system. Watering is only permitted between 4pm to 12 MIDNIGHT ONLY on your allocated day. There should be no outside watering other than during these times.

NO car washing permitted on hard surfaces.

Filling of new pools permitted/ topping up of current pools permitted.

Turf laying permitted.

These restrictions are in line with Council's draft Drought Management Plan - Level 2 Restrictions.

Council appreciates your assistance in this matter. If residents continue to ignore the water restrictions, fines will be issued.

THESE RESTRICTIONS CAME INTO EFFECT ON 1 MAY 2020.

The three Mines have been asked to begin reducing the amount of water they use as well as Council reducing or stopping watering our parks.

The Council together with the Cobar Water Board will keep the community informed on a regular basis on how our water usage and availabilty is going.

Please note: That our previous restrictions were not always followed by some and this time the new restrictions will be enforced.
