Closures Notice: Re-Use Shop, visitor centres and Geeveston Town Hall

The Huon Valley Council has announced the temporary closure of the following facilities from close-of-business 24 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) outbreak: 

Huon Valley Visitor Centre in Huonville Geeveston Visitor Centre and Geeveston Town Hall Re-Use Shop at the Southbridge Waste Transfer Station (Huonville)

The health and safety of our staff and community is our number one priority and we are continuing to take measures across all sites to reduce the spread of the virus. The closures will last for at least two weeks and are under active review. 

We understand that these closures may cause inconvenience for some, and we appreciate the patience and understanding of the community at this time. All closures will be actively reviewed and advice monitored, with an update on reopening made available as soon as possible.

Visitor information centres Staff will remain on site at the Huonville Centre continuing to deliver non face-to-face services to the community via phone and email, and are exploring ways to offer some services online. We encourage anyone wanting visitor information or bookings assistance for all areas of the Huon Valley to please contact us the following ways.

Waste transfer stations The Southbridge Waste Transfer Station (Huonville) and Council’s other waste transfer stations in Cygnet, Geeveston and Dover remain open and are accepting waste.
