Town of Claremont 13 Mar 2020
Based on the latest information from the Department of Health relating to health concerns around Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Town of Claremont has made the cautionary decision to postpone if possible or cancel all upcoming town-organised events.

Affected events include ARTTRA Light Festival (27-29 March), Pets at the Park (5 April), ANZAC Day Ceremony (25 April), Get into Health Fun Run and Fair (17 May) and the monthly History in a Coffee Cup series.

Town of Claremont Mayor Jock Barker said the wellbeing of the Claremont community was paramount.

“The decision to cancel upcoming events was not an easy one to make but the right one based on the ongoing information,” Mayor Barker said. “These are precautionary measures put in place for the health and safety of our community.”

“We apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment this may have caused and we hope to be able to reschedule our larger events for later in the year once these health concerns are more regulated.”

The Claremont Community Hub & Library will still be open, but public programs are postponed until further notice.  Back To News Stories
