From tomorrow (March 26 2020) no public entry will be allowed into Council’s offices – including the Customer Service Centre in Coff Street – as a precaution to help reduce the risk of Coronavirus Covid-19 infection within the organisation and the community.

The critical message is that Council remains open for business, it is just that customers and the community are encouraged to use phone, online, digital and other alternate channels to access our services.

“Our absolute priorities are the safety of our staff and customers – and the continued provision of essential services,” said Steve McGrath, Council’s General Manager.

“One of our primary aims is to improve the social distancing regimes for our staff, which government health authorities’ advocate as one of the best defences against the spread of Coronavirus Covid-19.

“People can access Council’s range of online services 24/7, including the submission of Development Applications (DAs), via www.coffsharbour.nsw.gov.au/OnlineServices

“They can also call Council on 02 6648 4000 or email us via [email protected] Anyone needing to make account payments is being asked either to use the online payment options detailed on the account, or call Council during business hours.”

The COVID-19 situation is constantly evolving and Council has had an internal team proactively coordinating the organisation’s approach since mid-March. The team will continue to review essential services and revise work practices in line with emerging Federal and State Government advice and directives.

“This is a moving situation and we have been making decisions based on the best advice from both levels of government. The health and safety of our staff and community remains our ongoing priority,” added Mr McGrath.

Libraries, the Regional Museum, the Regional Gallery, the Jetty Memorial Theatre, community venues for hire and local swimming pools are already closed, while regular Council-run programs and activities in our facilities have also been postponed.
