Derwent Valley Council’s General Manager, Greg Winton, will finish with Council this week.

In March last year, Mr Winton had informed Council he did not intend to seek a further renewal of his contract and was planning to depart in 2020. That plan is now a reality.

This announcement will clear the way for the recruitment of a new General Manager early in 2020.

Council will make a payment to Mr Winton of $156,829 plus his accumulated leave entitlements in accordance with his contract with Council.

“I would like thank Mr Winton for his contribution to Council and wish him well in the future. During his tenure, Mr Winton assisted greatly in helping to deliver significantly better value for ratepayers” Mayor Shaw said.

Mr Winton thanked the community for their support during his time with Derwent Valley Council.

“I have enjoyed many achievements with Council and I wish Council, residents and in particular Council staff all the best in the future,” Mr Winton said.
