Council wishes to provide an update on the current water main break that is effecting supply within the Lithgow area.

Staff have worked through the night in testing conditions and have been unable to complete the repair. Work is still being undertaken to complete the repair and the revised estimated time for completion and resumption of service is 11.00am.

Council wishes to advise that once service resumes it will take some time before the system refills and that normal water service resumes to all customers. Upon return of normal service, residents may experience dirty water for a period. Council will endeavour to minimise this by flushing the mains. Before using the water for domestic purposes, residents are advised to run a tap to ensure the water is clean and any dirt released into the system has been flushed.

Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause but is working to rectify the issues as soon as possible.
