Come and try water aerobics

Published on 17 January 2020

Residents aged 65 years and older who are interested in trying out water aerobics are invited to attend a free session occurring in Kerang later this month.   The Kerang Exercise Pool, located in Patchell Plaza, will host a special session on Thursday, 30 January at 10am.   “If you have ever wanted to try out water aerobics, here’s your chance,” Mayor Lorraine Learmonth said.   “Keeping active as you age not only helps reduce your risk of chronic disease, it also helps you to keep connected with your community.   “Whether you choose to wear bathers or a top and shorts on the day, come along and give it a go.”   A coffee and chat session will follow the in-pool activities, enabling participants to socialise and find out about where water aerobics classes are held throughout the Gannawarra.   “Bookings are essential for what will be a popular event, so I encourage all interested in taking part to phone Council’s Kerang Customer Service Centre on (03) 5450 9333 as soon as possible,” Mayor Learmonth said.   This session is part of the Gannawarra – Active at Any Age! program, supported by the Federal Government’s Move It AUS Better Ageing Grant.   For more details on the Gannawarra – Active at Any Age! program, please visit www.gsc.vic.gov.au/active
