Bayside City Council conducts approximately six citizenship ceremonies per year on behalf of the Department of Home Affairs.
The ceremony is the final step in becoming an Australian citizen and involves each participant making the pledge of commitment to Australia. The pledge is a legal requirement.
For many new citizens, the ceremony is an important occasion and opportunity to celebrate with family and friends.
Ceremonies are held at Brighton Town Hall, corner of Wilson Street and Carpenter Street, Brighton.
