Liverpool City Council’s Australia Day celebration will feature a fantastic line-up of entertainment for people from all walks of life to enjoy.

That’s the message from Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller, who said the city’s free Australia Day celebration remains a fun and welcoming event for everyone.

“People from around the world have made Liverpool their home and this is something we proudly highlight in many of our celebrations, particularly Australia Day,” Mayor Waller said.

“The festivities will feature international cuisine, a stellar line-up of live entertainment, carnival rides and games, showbags and the Channel 10 Fireworks Spectacular at 9pm.

“With such a wide variety of entertainment in store, I hope the community, and in particular our newest citizens, enjoy themselves at our Australia Day celebration.

“I also encourage attendees to dig deep and give generously to our collection for the NSW Rural Fire Service to support their continued efforts to protect homes and wildlife from bushfire.”

Council’s free Australia Day celebration will be held at Woodward Park in Liverpool on Sunday 26 January, 5pm – 10pm. Gates will open at 4pm, with entertainment to commence at 5pm.

The event site is a short walk from Liverpool station and close to bus routes, with plenty of parking available nearby. Visit www.liverpool.nsw.gov.au/australiaday for further event information.

Council wishes to thank Channel 10 (Exclusive TV Partner) for their support of Australia Day.
