Have your say on keeping active in the Gannawarra

Residents aged 65 years and older are encouraged to complete a survey seeking input into opportunities for Gannawarra Shire Council to support subsidised exercise programs.

The seven-question survey - available from Council’s Customer Service Centres at Cohuna and Kerang, Gannawarra Library Service branches and online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/552JCD2 - asks residents 65 years and older what exercise opportunities they would like set up in the Gannawarra.

The development of the survey is part of the Gannawarra - Active at Any Age! program, supported by the Federal Government’s Move It AUS Better Ageing Grant.

“More than 27 per cent of the Gannawarra Shire’s 10,549 residents are aged 65 years and older, and it is important that all residents, no matter their age, keep active to improve their health,” Mayor Lorraine Learmonth said

“All feedback collected will help Council determine what support it could provide to encourage our older residents to keep active and connected.”

People who complete the survey before Thursday, 23 January 2020 will go into the running to win a $50 voucher from SportsPower Kerang.

“I encourage as many residents aged 65 years and older to fill out this survey and help guide a future range of programs that all residents will benefit from,” Mayor Learmonth said.
