Shire of Ashburton welcomes new CEO

The Shire of Ashburton welcomes Mr Paul Sheedy to the position of Acting Chief Executive Officer.

At December’s Ordinary Meeting of Council, council resolved to appoint Mr Sheedy to the role.  Paul will fill the role while the formal recruitment process to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer is undertaken.

Mr Sheedy previously served as CEO at the Shire of Capel for 16 years and Shire President Kerry White said that Mr Sheedy’s extensive experience in Local Government and his high level of expertise are well suited to managing the Shire’s operations and strategic plans throughout this period.

“Council are pleased to welcome Paul to Ashburton and look forward to working with him in the coming months.

“Council would also like to thank Steven Deckert, who has been Acting CEO since mid-November last year, for his leadership and contribution”.

John Phillips Consulting have been appointed to assist with the CEO recruitment process and advertising will commence in the coming weeks.
