Blind and Low Vision tennis coaching program to launch in 2020

Published on 23 December 2019

Blacktown Tennis Centre Stanhope will launch its new blind and low vision tennis coaching program at the end of January 2020. The program takes place every Saturday morning during the school term.

Blind and Low vision tennis has been created to include anyone who is blind or has a significant visual impairment to enjoy the game of tennis. The game uses a specialised foam ball with a bell so that players can use their hearing to determine the location of the ball.

Tennis Australia supports this initiative and it will be providing coaching support and promotion for the program through its disability networks. Tennis Australia will also hold an Open Day at Blacktown Tennis Centre Stanhope on Saturday 11 January 2020.
