Ballarat (City) 3 Dec 2019

The City of Ballarat’s Youth Council is hosting a sustainable and ethical fashion event this Saturday 7 December, including a giant clothes swap, plus workshops for people to learn how to mend and upcycle their own clothes in creative ways.

The Green Wardrobe event will also feature live music and guest speakers such as Bethany Alice fashion design and La Vergne Lehmann, from Grampians Central West Waste and Resource Recovery Group, who will discuss the importance and impact of sustainable fashion.

The Green Wardrobe aims to encourage young people and adults to act sustainably and empower participants to take tangible action in the movement towards reusing and reducing fashion waste to minimise the impacts of climate change - an issue that Youth Councillors are passionate about.

The event is free but booking tickets is recommended as capacity is limited: http://linktr.ee/ballaratyouth

The Green Wardrobe will take place on Saturday 7 December at the Old Sheriff’s Office in Camp Street, from 1.30-4.30pm.

The Green Wardrobe is proudly supported by the City of Ballarat Youth Services, Resource Smart Schools, Sustainability Victoria, Junkies Magazine, Bethany Alice fashion designs, Grampians Central West Waste and Resource Recovery Group, The Healthy Hub Café and Wellness Centre, and Unstoppable Women.
