Strathfield Council 28 Nov 2019

Strathfield Council is pleased to work in collaboration with Lighthouse Early Learning Centre to ensure that child care services will remain operational in Homebush West, with a smooth transition for all families involved.

Kurralee will close on 20 December 2019 and undergo required maintenance. The much-loved centre will re-open on Monday 6 January 2020, under the new management of Lighthouse Early Learning Centre.

Council has worked closely with the community to understand childcare requirements and ensure our youngest residents are well taken care of, relieving initial concerns parents had about the possibility of relocating their children.

Manish and his family moved to Sydney from India and have no family support nearby, “we moved to Homebush West for Kurralee, so were incredibly disappointed when we heard it may close. My son has really come of out his shell at Kurralee and we are so happy and relieved it will remain open”.

Local residents, Diana and Asna agreed that they love the natural aspect of Kurralee and the green space, which is very important for families living in apartment blocks

Lydia from Lighthouse Early Learning Centre said “we are delighted to continue the long tradition of quality childcare in Homebush West, and look forward to working with the Council and community to provide local children with the best start possible.”
