Clifton residents will move to High level water restrictions from tomorrow. (Friday, November 22)

Toowoomba Regional Council Water and Waste Committee chair Cr Nancy Sommerfield said the shift meant residents would be limited to 170 litres per person per day.

This figure reverts to 150 litres per person per day in line with Council’s region-wide water restriction level changes from December 2, 2019.

‘Water is being transported to Clifton from the Toowoomba Bulk Water Supply to ensure the area’s residents have a safe and secure water supply,” Cr Sommerfield said.

“As this is now temporarily the sole source of the area’s supply, Council is asking residents to please note the revised restriction level.

“The Clifton community has been particularly understanding and does realise the importance of observing our water restriction requirements to reduce their water consumption. I am most appreciative of residents’ ongoing efforts.”
