The inaugural Platypus Day was held on Saturday with locals and visitors to the Snowy Monaro taking the opportunity to celebrate the native animal.

It was a fantastic occasion in Bombala where community groups, children’s activities and live music kept families entertained throughout the day. Even a few Platypus were spotted. It’s hoped Platypus Day will become an annual event.

Well done to those who helped organise the event, in particular the staff from the Bombala Country Visitors Information Centre.

They have asked to have further discussions with Council to explore options at improving entry to and from the highway.
