The Wyndham Disability Expo on 29th November will showcase the services of more than 80 disability providers.

Family Friendly Portfolio Holder Cr Mia Shaw said the expo was the perfect opportunity to meet with providers across a range of areas, from accommodation or home and vehicle modifications to everyday support services, covering therapies, language services, day and holiday support.

“Attendees can meet providers face-to-face to see how they can assist them and take part in the educational workshops during the day,” Cr Shaw said.

“More than 1,400 people attended the 2018 expo and many participants told us they learnt about many new services and how they can make their lives easier – and they even grew their support and friendship networks.”

“This year’s expo will feature both NDIS and non NDIS providers, supporting the community with information on how to get the most out of their NDIS packages and for those not eligible for the NDIS, information on pathways to services and support.”

“The expo provides an easy way to navigate different options for disability support, so everyone can make informed decisions about services that work for them.”

“The entire area will be fully accessible and have language and Auslan interpreters as well as guides to help attendees find what they are looking for, along with a chill out zone with sensory activities for children.”

The Wyndham Disability Expo will be held at Encore Events Centre, 80 Derrimut Road, Hopppers Crossing on 29th November from 10am to 3pm.

The following week Wyndham City and the Wyndham Disability Support Network are inviting residents to join in a community celebration of International Day of People with Disability.

A special event will be held at the Wyndham Civic Centre, 45 Princes Highway, Werribee on Friday 6th December from 4pm to 8pm.

Held in partnership with the Wyndham Disability Support Network, this year’s event will feature market stalls, food and a free movie screening.

The community celebration will feature performances, art and craft stalls, coffee and food stations all by people with disability from local communities. For more information, go to: https://www.wyndham.vic.gov.au/whats-on/international-day-people-disability
