Funding sought to address beach erosion MEDIA RELEASE

Council will seek $329,000 under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements Program to address sand erosion at Holloways, Clifton, Ellis and Trinity beaches.

The funding allows for sand nourishment and beach reprofiling to reduce the risk of further erosion.

It is proposed that works at Holloways Beach, covering 7500 cubic metres of sand, will be timed to coincide with the installation of proposed groynes.

If the funding application is successful, Council aims to complete the works following the 2020 wet season.
