This year Wollondilly Council is continuing its long tradition of hosting the Christmas Lights Competition, wrapping up the popular event with new Twilight Markets for the community at the Picton Botanic Gardens.

Established in 1998, the Christmas Lights Competition has been held annually for more than twenty years, with residents from right across the Shire lighting up their homes and businesses to embrace the Christmas spirit.

Mayor Matthew Deeth said, “The Christmas Lights Competition is a great opportunity to show off your house or business to neighbours and passers-by.”

“The competition is a highlight in the Wollondilly calendar, and I anticipate that the Twilight Markets will also be a fantastic way to celebrate as we head into the holidays.”

Wollondilly residents can enter the Christmas Lights competition by completing the entry form on the website and returning it to Council. Entries for the competition are open from 4 November to 27 November, with judging from 2 December to 8 December.

Council is also seeking sponsorship for the Christmas Lights Competition and the Twilight Markets, with forms available on Council’s website for interested local businesses.

The award presentation for the competition winners will be at 8pm on 13 December at the Twilight Markets.
