Council will now seek community feedback about the draft plan through a public exhibition period for a minimum of 28 days beginning Monday 28 October. Council approved the allocation of $850,000 from the Water Reserve to fund the early installation of the planned new pipeline from the Manilla River to the Namoi River Weir. The pipeline has been tendered as part of the new Manilla Water Treatment Plan so it is expected that the cost will be offset by its removal from the tender. Council also approved the allocation of $30,000 from the Water Reserve for the temporary purchase of 50ML of water from the Upper Namoi Regulated River Water Source. This additional water will be used to meet the expected usage of Barraba and Manilla residents as the current allocation for the two towns from Split Rock Dam will be insufficient in meeting demand.  The Tamworth Performing Arts Centre and Cultural Precinct business case will go on public exhibition from tomorrow. The business case was produced after in-depth engagement with key stakeholders, analysis of current activities, demographic and economic research, as well as benchmarking of similar facilities across the state and nation. The business case presents a fully costed concept design which considers every aspect of arts and culture in Tamworth.  Tamworth Regional Council will take over operation of the Australian Country Music Hall of Fame, from 31 March 2020, after adopting the Draft Australian Country Music Hall of Fame Strategic Plan this evening. The strategic plan was developed by the Australian Country Music Hall of Fame Working Group in partnership with the ACMF volunteers, key stakeholders and representative of Tamworth Regional Council. The plan outlines a sustained and strategic approach to long-term investment in the Museum which will allow it to continue telling the stories that contribute so greatly to Tamworth’s collective memory, history and tourism potential.
