'Bridges of Brisbane and Brisbane City Hall' by Martin Edge

Wednesday, October 16, 2019, 5:30 – 10pm In celebration of Brisbane hosting the 2019 INAS Global Games, Brisbane City Council is projecting local artist, Martin Edge’s ‘Bridges of Brisbane’ and ‘Brisbane City Hall’ onto the William Jolly Bridge from 5:30 –10pm nightly until Friday 18 October 2019. Marin Edge is a Queensland-based artist with autism, renowned for his depictions of Brisbane. He describes himself as a naïve artist who captures the world according to his everyday life, including adventures that he has been on or aspires to undertake. Martin’s work is represented in state and national institutional collections including: The Parliament House Art Collection Canberra, Gold Coast University Hospital, Lady Cilento Children's Hospital, State Library of Queensland, Maitland Regional Art Gallery and the Moreton Bay Regional Art Collection. In 2009 Edge was a finalist in The Blake Prize for Religious Art and in 2015 was hung in the Archibald's Salon des Refuse. Martin was also a finalist of this year’s Brisbane Portrait Prize.
