Are you ready for a bushfire or major storm near your home? The City of Wanneroo is hosting Community Preparedness Roadshows to help residents reduce the impacts of bushfires and other emergencies.

Recently, the City of Wanneroo conducted bushfire risk assessments that have been endorsed as part of the City’s Bushfire Risk Management Plan.

Properties in certain suburbs have been identified in this Plan as having either a high, very high or extreme level of bushfire risk, forming part of the highest possible risk ratings. This may also mean a property borders a bushfire prone area.

The Community Preparedness Roadshows will provide an opportunity for landowners and residents to meet with local emergency services, see practical demonstrations and find out how to prepare yourself, your family and your home.

There will be maps available to help you identify the bushfire risk around your property, and important tips on how to prepare a household emergency plan that includes how to be connected and organised before, during and after a bushfire or major emergency in your area.

There will also be a panel discussion, a household emergency kit on display, including an emergency kit for pets and animals as well as fire trucks and police cars for the kids to explore, and a free sausage sizzle.

Community Preparedness Roadshows:

Saturday 19 October 10am – 1pm Two Rocks Emergency Services Facility – Caraway Loop, Two Rocks

Saturday 9 November 10am – 1pm Peridot Park, Banksia Grove

The roadshow will also be at the Wanneroo Show on Saturday 30 November.
