Waste facility free open days for pre-cyclone clean-up

The Broome Waste Management Facility will take household rubbish for free on the last weekend in October and first in November to help prepare the town for cyclone season.

The open weekends on 26-27 October and 2-3 November are in addition to household green waste being accepted free at the Waste Management Facility throughout the year, and the issuing of six free passes each year to ratepayers. There is no kerbside pre-cyclone collection.

Pensioners are eligible for a 6m skip bin each year to assist with removing waste from properties. Please contact the Shire Administration Office on 9191 3456 for more information. Limits apply.

Eligible items for the free disposal:

White goods such as fridges, freezers and air conditioners Scrap metal Furniture E-waste such as televisions, computers, printers and monitors Batteries Green waste and timber Oil

 Items NOT eligible for free disposal:

Tyres and car parts Gas bottles Mattresses Asbestos, paint, liquid waste, chemical or hazardous waste Commercial and demolition waste Flares Fire extinguishers
