Bellingen Shire Council’s Customer & Business Services Team have been shortlisted again as a finalist for the 2019 National Local Government Customer Service Network Awards’ Customer Service Team of the Year Category.

Bellingen Shire General Manager, Liz Jeremy, said Councils submission was selected as a finalist amongst a competitive nation-wide field of metropolitan and regional councils.

“These awards showcase examples of exceptional customer service and to be nominated as a finalist again is extremely rewarding given that our team previously won the Customer Service Team of the Year Category in 2015.”

Mrs Jeremy said the recent nomination acknowledged the Customer & Business Services Teams ongoing commitment to maintain and enhance our customer service experiences across no less than 31 individual council services.

“As part of their continuous improvement activities, our team installed Rateit Tablets at our Bellingen Customer Service Centre to seek real time feedback from customers to identify experience satisfaction ratings and opportunities to improve our current service levels.”

“Data from the 279 surveys completed since the Rateit tablets were installed mid-2018 identify our average customer experience score is 8.8 out of 10 with 97% of respondents confirming their expectations were met or exceeded.”

“Last financial year our Customer & Business Services Team also recorded more than 22,000 customer contacts and resolved 83% of them on the spot so I think they should be proud of their achievements and I wish them the best of luck in the upcoming awards,” Mrs Jeremy said.

Winners will be announced at the 2019 National Local Government Customer Service Network Awards’ Gala Dinner in Port Macquarie on Thursday 17th October 2019.
