Business Case released for Port Coogee Marina expansion

The documents are now available for public comment on the City of Cockburn’s Comment on Cockburn website.
The marina was originally designed with a future expansion in mind to meet the demands of the growing community.
Occupancy rates are now above 90 percent and waitlists for boat bays are increasing.
More residents are set to call the nearby Maraboo Island development home, so it is envisaged the proposed marina expansion would be completed in two stages.
Stage 1 proposes to build the jetties to the south and west of Maraboo Island mid-next year, to cause minimal disturbance to residents.
Stage 2 is proposed for year five, when the Stage 1 pens are expected to have good occupancy and the Southern Peninsular is expected to be progressed.
The public comment period for the Business Case and preferred draft Concept Plan closes on November 6, and the reviewed plans will be put to the Cockburn Council for consideration in December.
Should the council endorse the plans in December, the City of Cockburn would then begin the detailed design of the expansion.
