Council is calling on the community to nominate our unsung heroes for the Australia Day Awards 2020.

The Australia Day Awards Program offers us the opportunity to recognise the valuable achievements of individuals who contribute to our region.

Mayor Liz Schmidt is encouraging residents from across the region to nominate those who tirelessly volunteer their time and talents for the betterment of our community.

“Countless hours are contributed to our community weekly by many residents through charities, committees and organisations.  Communities like ours are vibrant because of the hard work and generosity of these individuals and groups.

“There are so many people in our region that deserve to be recognised for being outstanding role models and community advocates. They are individuals and groups who have excelled in their chosen field; be it sport, arts or culture.

“We want to acknowledge and reward these outstanding individuals, organisations and groups who are committed to improving our region’s lifestyle.

“We need the community to nominate these people, so we can recognise their contributions and say thank you for all their hard work,” said Cr Schmidt.
